Spring is a magical time to visit Maui. There are plenty of events happening to keep you entertained and immersed in the local culture, food and music (when you’re not soaking up some beach time, of course).

While there may not be any new sweethearts (candy) this year, there are still plenty of ways to express your affection for the one you love. There’s something for everyone on Maui this Valentine’s Day – whether you’re with your one and only or you’re a lonely only. Here are a few events taking place across the island.

Did you know there is a party on Maui every Friday? If it’s the second Friday of the month (like today!), it’s in Lahaina. Lahaina’s intimate Front Street setting, cultural and historic significance, and reputation for hosting fun lends itself perfectly to Maui Town Parties. Oceanfront restaurants offer an array of food and beverage choices with casual takeout, family restaurants and fine dining. The lively art and entertainment scene, museums and historic sites co-exist with its bustling retail district, which offers attractive retail promotions during the monthly street fair party.

The highly-anticipated Sentry Tournament of Champions will be held January 3rd through 6th at the legendary Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort on Maui. The annual tournament serves as the calendar-year opening tournament of golf’s PGA Tour season. It is unique in that its qualified field features a winners-only format – only champions from the 2018 PGA TOUR are eligible to compete.

Local Top Chef alum Sheldon Simeon has opened his newest highly anticipated restaurant, Lineage, at the Shops of Wailea. The 80-seat restaurant, which opened in October, highlights local Hawaiian cuisine in a modern way. The restaurant describes Lineage as coming “from a place in the past – a place where everyone gathered around and shared together the food that was laid out in front of them – food that is from the heart and filled with memories. Dishes will pay homage to those who inspire Chef Sheldon, and will celebrate his familial roots (or Lineage), as well as the vast bounty of the islands.”

Surfers across the world eagerly await the winter months in Hawaii each year. This is when the north shores of Maui and Oahu get their biggest swells caused by ocean storms hundreds of miles away in the Pacific. With the waves come a surge of pro surfers, media and enthusiastic fans hoping to witness some of world’s biggest and best waves.

Maui’s breathtaking natural beauty, resorts, and an assortment of tourist attractions make it a must-see destination to unwind or for adventure. There is so much to explore and enjoy in Maui that one trip is not enough, but it’s a start.
